Brian Anthony Bry died Monday evening January 2nd at his home in Pomfret, Vermont surrounded by his family. It was his 67th birthday.
Brian was born on January 2, 1945 in Butte, Montana the son of Nathan William and Lois (Williams) Bry. He moved to Vermont at the age of 6, and then to Rumson, New Jersey where he attended and graduated high school.
Brian graduated from Middlebury College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his Masters of Arts in Teaching from Castleton State College in 1998.
Brian worked as a manager at Killington for several years as well as for Karhu Ski company where he worked in sales. He owned and operated Trail Head Cross Country ski area in Stockbridge, Vermont until 1993. He then became a Social Studies teacher and worked at South Royalton High School, which is where he worked until he retired. He loved all aspects of the outdoors, including skiing, sailing, and camping. He was a skilled woodworker and builder. He was a natural teacher and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Brian is survived by Sharon, his wife of 28 years, who resides in Pomfret, VT, his daughter Ashley and her fiance Curtis Taylor of Waterbury, VT, and his son Tyson of Pomfret, VT. His three siblings include his brother and sister in law; William and Rose of Vail, CO, brother and sister in law; Thomas and Diane of Denver, CO, and a sister and brother in law Heather and Leonard Wolfe of New York, NY. Along with so many other family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents.
There will be a celebration of Brian's life on Saturday January 7, 2012 at the Pomfret Town Hall in Pomfret, Vermont at 1:00 pm.
So many thanks for all of the amazing care Brian received at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, most especially the care he received from Dr.Camillo Fadul, Roberta Silveira ARNP, and the oncology team.
