Obituary

Brian Lamar Alderfer, 79 of Stuart, Florida, and Woodstock, Vermont, died at his home in Stuart on December 21, 2019. He was born in Telford, Pennsylvania on October 15, 1940, to John and Elizabeth Hange Alderfer.

After growing up in the Souderton Pennsylvania area, he served in the US Army, 101st Airborne. He married Joan Landis and moved to Woodstock, where he was a finish carpenter and builder. He was first employed by Max Boynton and later began his own business doing many renovations in Woodstock and the surrounding area. He was a loving and caring father to their three children. Brian had a great smile, sense of humor and warm laugh. He was an avid motorcyclist and traveler and loved working in his carpenter shop. He was a member of Taftsville Mennonite Chapel. He later married Marcia C. Littel until her death in 2013. In 2016 he married Margo Cook of Stuart. He is survived by his wife Margo, and his three children, and nine grandchildren: Todd Alderfer and his wife Kim, of Greensburg, Kansas, and their children, Kristen and Terran; Mindy Graber and her husband, Stan of Washington, Indiana, and their children, Kati, Eve, Mattie and Jake; and MaryBeth Beck and her husband Kerry, of Woodstock, and their children, Mara, Miriam and Denver; four great-grandchildren, two brothers, and four sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He cherished all his family.

A memorial service is planned for January 4, 2020 at Taftsville Chapel, Taftville, VT at 2pm
