Obituary

Baylee (Silverstein) Green

Of Woodstock, Vt and formerly Rochester, NY passed away peacefully on August 20,, 2024 at age 92. She was born in Rochester, NY on January 8, 1932 to Charles and Mary Silverstein. She graduated from Franklin High in 1949 and from Syracuse University with a BA from the College of Arts and Sciences in 1953.

While at Syracuse she met Richard "Dick" Green and they married in 1953. They lived in Freeport, NY and moved their family to Rochester in 1968. She had a fulfilling life as a wife, mom and through her work as a substitute Spanish teacher and teacher's aide at Brighton High School, teaching English as a second language in Rochester and in Public Relations at the Jewish Home when they opened at the current Brighton location.

Growing up she had a very close relationship with her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins; people who have always been an important part of her life along with her numerous friends who cherished her and her sense of humor. Her interests beyond love of her family included travel, playing Scrabble, watching Jeopardy, Syracuse University sports, teaching, reading and classical music.

Baylee is survived by her son Jonathan of Longwood, Fl, daughter Jackie (Jordan) Harris of Quechee, Vt, and grandchildren Brandon of Washington, DC and Lindsay (Nick) Cilia of Portsmouth, NH.
