Arta L. Gramling, 87, died Monday evening March 6th at her home in Hartland, Vermont.

She was born on September 13, 1929 in Eden, Vermont the daughter of Howard and Alice (Brown) Paronto.

Arta attended the Brockway School in Quechee, the Center of Town School in Hartford and Quechee High School. She cared for her aunt and children for some time and worked at Dewey's Woolen Mill. She married Lawrence Gramling on May 6, 1950 in Randolph, Vermont and they lived in Woodstock until settling in Hartland. Arta enjoyed writing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her cats.

She is survived by her step-daughter Sandra Brown of Hartland, VT, 3 grandchildren; Melissa Walker, Mitchell Tarleton, and Stephen Tarleton and 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her Husband Lawrence and 3 brothers, Ward, Frank, and Jack Paronto.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 25th at 1:00pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lucy MacKenzie Humane Society, 4832 VT-44, Windsor, VT 05089.
