Archie William Davis, 85, died at his home in Braintree early Friday morning June 9th surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 10, 1932 in Barre, Vermont the son of Ernest Orin and Alice Ann (Bagley) Davis.

Archie graduated from Montpelier High School and spent his life living in Vermont, Delaware, and California. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Rossi Trucking and at area granite Shedds as a stonecutter. He was very proud of his military service in the Navy, the Air force, and the National Guard. Serving in both Korea and Vietnam.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting finding it most enjoyable when sharing this time with his many grandchildren.

Archie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Ann (Douglas) Davis, His children: Stephen Davis wife Shirley, Richard, Brian and wife Barbara, Lori and companion Chris His grandchildren; Nicholas, Jeffrey, Sarah, Rebecca, Richard, Christine, Donald, Samantha, and Hollie, his 12 great grandchildren, a brother Marshall.

In addition to his parents he is pre deceased by son William Archie Davis, grandsons Michael Davis, Christopher Messier, brothers Robert Davis, Wendell Davis

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday June 14th at 9:00am at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph.
