Ann Barribal, 85, died surrounded by her family on Tuesday June 4th at the Mt Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, Vermont.
Ann was born on April 26, 1928 in Nazeing Essex, England the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Douglas) Gray.
After growing up on a sheep farm in England Ann met and married Ian R. Barribal on July 14, 1956. Together Ann and Ian moved to Canada where they began a family. In 1963 they along with their two children moved to Wilton, CT and later to Newtown, CT. They purchased a retirement home in West Windsor, VT in 1986 and retired to that home in 1994.
Ann was a member of the Daughters of British Empire. She was an outstanding craftswoman in the area of needlework, crewel embroidery, and floristry. She enjoyed antiques and was also a great cook and baker who enjoyed entertaining with family and friends.
Ann is survived by her husband Ian of West Windsor, VT, her daughter Catherine Barribal-Lamorte and husband Arthur of Springfield, VT, a sister Marion Manypeney of Australia, a number of nieces and nephews including Alison Moncur-Chapo of Wilton, CT. Ann is predeceased by her son Ian Stuart Barribal and two sisters, Eva and Mary.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 12th at 1:00 pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. The family extends an invitation to join them for refreshments at their home following the service
