Alan B. Tallarico, 83, died on April 30, 2011 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Alan was born on May 22, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Pasquale and Anna (Batchelder) Tallarico. He grew up in Baltimore but spent his summers in New Hampshire. He received his BS from The University of New Hampshire.
Alan worked for 31 years as a soil conservationist and soil scientist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in the State of Vermont. He loved the fact that to get to work he would have to walk across the covered bridge to his office, which was in the Town Hall of Woodstock where he resided since 1964.
Alan is survived by his wife Dorothy (Russell) Tallarico of Woodstock, VT, his four children; Stephanie Tallarico, Alan Tallarico, Jennifer Tallarico and Diane Tallarico Wood all of Mission Viejo, California; four grandchildren Chad and Julie Tallarico and Spencer and Nichole Wood; two brothers Robert and Leslie and a sister Gina.
His parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother predeceased him.
He loved to be outdoors, classical music and tinkering in his barn and working on his house. He was always the jokester.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Burial will be in the memorial garden at St. James in Woodstock.
